Before E85 became widely available, this kind of build would've previously been unrealistic for everyday driving, since it would've required a very knock-resistent fuel to take full advantage of the high compression. Folks have tried in the past to slap turbos onto an NA block, but they couldn't get beyond ~450whp before knocking or catastrophic failure on pump gas. E85 is very much a game-changer in this regard.
